£41k a year spent on cleaning up dog mess on the street he lives

The culture of patronage and abuse of power hit new lows last week as council documents revealed that the borough’s entire £41,385 contract to clean up dog mess is used to clean 11 streets around the Deputy Mayor Ohid Ahmed home every day of the week. The tax payer cash funds a ‘dog fouling removal machine’ which operates the same set route each day, centred around the street where Cllr Ahmed lives.
The machine runs the same route 5 days a week, a total of 520 times a year, completely ignoring the rest of the borough’s densely populated streets, despite residents and Labour councillors increasingly reporting filthy streets.
When asked the deputy Mayor responded that the situation was “completely normal” showing just how out of touch he is.
