OIC condemns Jewish incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday strongly condemned the incursion and desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by groups of extremist Jewish settlers earlier in the day.
Iyad Madani, secretary-general of the pan-Islamic body, said the settlers, who were granted protection by the Israeli occupation forces, blocked access to the mosque and savagely attacked worshippers in the mosque compound.
He described the incident as an act of provocation in blatant violation of the relevant international resolutions.
Madani held Israel responsible for the consequences of the continuation of the systemic Israeli attacks against the blessed mosque, which fuel religious conflict, extremism and instability in the region.
He called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibility by putting an end to these repeated and dangerous Israeli violations of Islamic holy sites.
