Two suspected immigration offenders have been arrested following operations by our officers in Rhyl and Pencoed.
On 5 February 2014 at 10:50, officers went to 69 Style Ltd, a retail clothing store on High Street, Rhyl, where they arrested a 25-year-old Indian man after checks revealed that he had overstayed his visa.
On 6 February 2014 an operation was carried out at Min-Y-Mart convenience store, on Min Y Nant, Pencoed.
Entering the business at 08:45, officers arrested a 29-year-old Sri Lankan man who was discovered working in breach of his visa conditions.
Both men are now in detention while steps are taken to remove them from the country.
69 Style Ltd. and Min-Y-Mart were each served a notice warning that they face civil penalties of up to £10,000 each for employing an illegal worker.
The penalty will be imposed unless proof is provided by the employer that the correct right-to-work checks were carried out.
