Huawei unveils world’s slimmest smart phone

HuaweiHuawei, a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has unveiled its latest premium smart phone device — the Huawei Ascend P6, the “world’s slimmest smart phone measuring just 6.18 mm thin” – adding further momentum behind a string of recent Huawei launches in the high-end market segment. The smart phone was revealed during a worldwide press launch in downtown London attended by senior global executives from Huawei who talked through many of the new hardware and software features being included on the device.
As one of the flagship smart phones of the Huawei Ascend P series, the Ascend P6 embodies cutting edge design for the fashion conscious. The smart phone features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and a sleek metallic body. With its 4.7-inch high definition in-cell display, the 5MP front-facing camera, and a proprietary Android OS skin, the Ascend P6 is the embodiment of elegance with an edge.
The announcement comes just a month after the Middle East launch of the Huawei Ascend P2 — the “world’s fastest 4G LTE smart phone” — and the Ascend Mate – the “world’s largest smart phone” with a 6.1-inch screen — with the company looking to advance its position amongst the top five worldwide smart phone brands.
“The Huawei Ascend P6 is a star among smart phones with its industry-leading design, high-quality camera, and intuitive user interface,” said Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group. “Building on the success of our Ascend P series of fashion-led smart phones, the Huawei Ascend P6 provides unsurpassed technology and a design that is simply stunning.”
The Ascend P6 will begin shipping to China from June followed by Western Europe starting in July with other global markets, including the Middle East to follow.
