Muslim Aid appoints Hamid Azad as CEO

UK-based international relief and development agency Muslim Aid announced the appointment of Mr Hamid Azad as the new CEO of the organisation.
Hamid Azad has been the Assistant Chief Executive of Muslim Aid for the last four years. Prior to this role, he worked as Head of Overseas Programmes within the Charity from 2006-2009. Before joining Muslim Aid as a consultant  to deliver its multimillion Tsunami response programmes in 2005, Mr Azad worked as the Head of Community and International Programmes for three years in Faith Regen UK. He graduated with degrees in Law and Accountancy and was called to the Bar in 2001. Muslim Aid’s new CEO brings with him over ten years of experience in a senior management position within the NGO and Community Development sectors.
Muslim Aid Chairman, Dr Manazir Ahsan said “We are delighted to welcome Hamid Azad in his new role as the CEO of Muslim Aid. He brings with him a rich experience of the development sector and a wealth of knowledge and talent in developing and implementing Relief and Development Programmes.”
Mr Hamid Azad said “I feel very humbled to take on this challenging role. I love Muslim Aid and I have always been passionate about its amazing mission and vision. My commitment is to build on all that is strong in Muslim Aid and work tirelessly for the progress of this great organisation and its works in serving humanity.
Muslim Aid has also appointed Mr. Shuaib Yusaf as Assistant CEO of the organisation. Mr Yusaf’s professional background stems from the financial services industry, and he brings a wealth of corporate management experience and expertise not only to Muslim Aid, but to the wider charity sector.  His professional experience encompasses actuarial, compliance, fund management and acquisitions in the life and pensions industry.
