It was ranked 9th position among world\u2019s 10 worst cities, reports Australian daily The Age quoting The Economist Intelligence Unit&#8217;s Global Livability Index.<br \/>\nOnly Damascus in war-torn Syria is the least livable city behind Dhaka.<br \/>\nThe other cities which got the status of least livable cities are: Abidjan (Cote d&#8217;Ivorie), Tripoli (Libya), Douala (Cameroon), Harare (Zimbabwe), Algiers (Algeria), Karachi (Pakistan), Lagos (Nigeria), and Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea).<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Australia\u2019s Melbourne has retained its status as the world&#8217;s most livable city for the fourth consecutive year, outscoring three other Australian cities in the top 10.<br \/>\nThe Economist Intelligence Unit&#8217;s Global Livability Index made the list of the cities on the basis of scoring well across a range of criteria, including health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.<br \/>\nIt also scored a perfect 100 points in the sub-category of sport.<br \/>\nVienna ranked second in the survey, with Adelaide (5th), Sydney (7th) and Perth (9th) also polling well.<br \/>\nThe survey found that over the past six months, only nine cities of 140 surveyed had experienced changes in their scores and only 20 cities had seen changes over the past year.<br \/>\nOver half of the changes taking place over the past 12 months have been driven by deteriorating scores, with instability re-emerging as a key factor in influencing global scores,&#8221; the report said.<br \/>\nThe top ranking cities are: Vienna (Austria), Vancouver (Canada), Toronto (Canada), Adelaide, Calgary (Canada) Sydney, Helsinki (Finland) Perth, Auckland (New Zealand).<\/p>\n<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\r\n<script>(function(d, s, id) {\r\n  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\r\n  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;\r\n  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;\r\n  js.src = \"\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_GB\/all.js#xfbml=1\";\r\n  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);\r\n}(document, \"script\", \"facebook-jssdk\"));<\/script>\r\n <fb:comments href=\"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/dhaka-ranks-among-worlds-10-worst-cities\/\" font=\"arial\" num_posts=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" colorscheme=\"light\"  style=\"background:#FFFFFF;padding-top:0px;\r\npadding-right:0px;\r\npadding-bottom:0px;\r\npadding-left:0px;\r\nmargin-top:0px;\r\nmargin-right:0px;\r\nmargin-bottom:0px;\r\nmargin-left:0px;\r\n\"><\/fb:comments>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka is among the 10 least-livable cities in the world.
