{"id":2720,"date":"2014-10-12T16:55:49","date_gmt":"2014-10-12T16:55:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/?p=2720"},"modified":"2014-10-12T16:55:49","modified_gmt":"2014-10-12T16:55:49","slug":"pakistan-appeals-to-un","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/pakistan-appeals-to-un\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan appeals to UN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Pakistan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2721\" src=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Pakistan.jpg\" alt=\"Pakistan\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a>Indian firing across a disputed border with Pakistan has killed 12 civilians and injured 52 in Pakistan so far this month, according to a Sunday press release from the Foreign Ministry.<br \/>\nSartaj Aziz, the adviser to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on national security and foreign affairs, said that officials from UNMOGIP, a UN observation team, were going to the disputed border to observe the cease-fire violations.<br \/>\nHe also appealed to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday for assistance in solving the long-running dispute with India over the status of Kashmir, according to the Sunday press release.<br \/>\nPakistan revived its demand for Kashmiris to be allowed to hold a plebiscite to decide the region\u2019s future, as called for by a UN resolution adopted in 1948.
