The Election Commission will publish the draft of the updated voter list across the country on Friday and receive objections over fake voters and other anomalies till January 17.
\n\u201cThe draft of the electoral rolls will be published in district and upazila\/thana election offices, and the offices of union parishads,
\ncity corporations, municipalities and Cantonment Board tomorrow (Friday) simultaneously,\u201d EC Secretary Sirazul Islam said at a press conference on Thursday.
\nThe draft list will also be published on the EC\u2019s website, he added. Some 46.72 lakh (4.67 million) people have been registered as fresh
\nvoters during the three-phase countrywide voter list updating exercise that concluded on November 15 starting from May 15, 2014,
\nthe EC Secretary said.
\nSirazul Islam said the commission has already appointed regional election officers, district and upazila\/thana election officers,
\ndistrict magistrate, additional deputy commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officers to dispose of the objections by January 22.
\nThe final voter list will be published on January 31, he said adding that the number of the country\u2019s present voters is 9.20 crore (91.98 million), EC Secretary said.
\nAbout the eligible but dropped people from the voter lists, he said they still have the chance of being enlisted as voters till January
\n17.
\nThose got dropped are suggested to collect a special voter registration form from upazila\/thana election offices, if they want
\nto be voters.
\nEC joint secretary Jesmin Tuli and EC director SM Asaduzzaman were present at the press conference, held at the EC media centre.<\/p>\n
