{"id":4533,"date":"2015-05-27T18:05:25","date_gmt":"2015-05-27T17:05:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/?p=4533"},"modified":"2015-05-27T18:05:25","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T17:05:25","slug":"makkah-preps-for-ramadan-with-color-and-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/makkah-preps-for-ramadan-with-color-and-light\/","title":{"rendered":"Makkah preps for Ramadan with color and light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Makkah.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4534\" src=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Makkah.jpg\" alt=\"Makkah\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a>The municipality has begun decorating Makkah\u2019s streets and tunnels in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.<br \/>\nMakkah Municipality\u2019s Maintenance and Lighting Director Bandar Nouh said the fasting month is a \u201cspecial occasion for Muslims and a very special occasion for Makkah.\u201d<br \/>\nHe said \u201cWe already decorated 2,000 towers and poles and 500 palm trees with 1,700 of string lights measuring 7,000 meters.<br \/>\n\u201cWe even installed over 27,000 lights in various designs and 11,000 LED light decorations.\u201d<br \/>\nHe added the municipality paid special attention to the entrance of the city, Zamzam Square, Jeddah expressway and other main roads.<br \/>\n\u201cThe decorations extended to parking lots, parks and public places and tunnels including King Fahd Tunnel and Al-Faisaliyah Tunnel,\u201d said Nouh. He added the pilgrims and visitors of the city would be astounded by the art displayed.<br \/>\n\u201cWe treat the pilgrims as guests of the city, the Grand Mosque and the Kaaba.<br \/>\n\u201cWe want to make sure they enjoy their time in Makkah and have an ingrained memory of their visit.\u201d<br \/>\nHe also said Ramadan decorations are an old tradition of Makkah. \u201cThe decorations usually build up to the festivities of Eid.
