\"Cult<\/a>After a two-decade pause, cult UK TV adventure game show \u201cThe Crystal Maze\u201d is making a comeback.
\nWith a familiar format of participants pitting their wits against the tricky challenges inside the eponymous Crystal Maze \u2013 with the losers facing vaporization, the show became extremely popular in the UK and overseas.
\nThe big-budget show \u2013 which was named the \u201cGreatest UK Game Show of All Time\u201d in a 2006 poll \u2013 found broad acclaim in Saudi Arabia, where it was aired on Channel 2.
\nHowever, the show\u2019s producers have decided to revamp the familiar format \u2013 calling the new iteration a \u201clive immersive experience.\u201d
\nA post on the show\u2019s Facebook page promises that participates \u201cyou\u2019ll get to play the maze just as contestants did on the original show – placing you at the center of the action. What we really want is for people to live the magic of the hit television program for themselves.\u201d
\nIn February, a column in the UK paper The Guardian called for the big-budget show to return, saying it \u201cmade every other contemporary game show look like parsimonious gruel.\u201d<\/p>\n
