\"Sheikh<\/a>Zakat Al-Fitr is obligatory on all Muslims and should be given to the poor before the Eid prayer, Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh has said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has imposed on Muslims to pay Zakat Al-Fitr at the end of the holy month. There is great wisdom in this charity because it enables the economically less fortunate to enjoy Eid,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The grand mufti made this statement during the Friday sermon at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.<\/p>\n

He also called on Muslims to refer to Allah the Almighty, repent and stay away from sins.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last 10 days of Ramadan are most auspicious and Muslims can get their past sins erased by repenting and pledging never to do them again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said Zakat Al-Fitr of Ramadan is one saa of dates or one saa of barley for a slave and free, male and female, young and old Muslims, and should be handed over before the prayers,\u201d the grand mufti said.<\/p>\n

He called on Muslims to reinforce their fasting by beholding the tongue from speaking nonsense, to distance oneself from vice, drugs and liquor and stay away from threatening anybody.<\/p>\n
