{"id":5691,"date":"2015-08-12T16:28:15","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T15:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/?p=5691"},"modified":"2015-08-12T16:28:15","modified_gmt":"2015-08-12T15:28:15","slug":"deaf-run-day-is-a-great-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/deaf-run-day-is-a-great-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Deaf Run day is a great success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Deaf-Run-day-is-a-great-success.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5692\" src=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Deaf-Run-day-is-a-great-success.jpg\" alt=\"Deaf Run day is a great success\" width=\"265\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a>On Saturday 1st of August 2015, Mile End Park (London) hosted one of the largest gatherings for the deaf community in London \u2013 The Deaf Run 2015.\u00a0 Basking in the glorious sunshine of a summer\u2019s day on a fun-filled action packed bonanza \u2013 hundreds from all walks of the community, attended and partook in a two mile run to raising over \u00a320,000 for Deaf Friendly Services.<br \/>\nThe race was the highlight of the day, which was enthusiastically opened by Emdad Rahman (MBE), with over 500 runners representing several unique charitable causes, pitting young against old, hearing against non-hearing, all in a \u2018Deaf Friendly\u2019 environment.\u00a0 Mohammed Akhlakul Ambea was victorious in the over 16\u2019s category, upon receiving his award from the Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs he stated, \u201cIt was a fantastic day which brought together families, friends and the community.\u201d<br \/>\nThe many thousands that attended, were able to participate in exciting activities which catered for all ages including fun inflatable attractions, Al Isharah\u2019s Super-Spicy Hot Wings Challenge, Charity Tug-of-War Tournament and a fantastic award ceremony to close the signature event.<br \/>\nThe event was organised by Al Isharah, a local education based deaf charity working to make services accessible for the deaf community.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\r\n<script>(function(d, s, id) {\r\n  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\r\n  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;\r\n  js = d.createElement(s);
