\"Taj\"The managing director of an accountancy firm based in Whitechapel has triumphed at the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Professional Member Awards. Abul Nurujjaman, who runs Taj Accountants, was named \u2018Licenced Member of the Year\u2019 at the awards, announced on Thursday 8 June 2017.
\nAbul arrived from Bangladesh as an international student at the age of 21. After completing his degree, Abul studied AAT and opened his own small practice. Now at the age of 35, Taj Accountants has around 400 clients.
\nOver the past year, his firm has relocated to a new premise and increased its staff from three to eight, helping to ensure that work is completed at a higher pace and standard. They have developed a strong website, and write regular accounting updates for TV channels, newspapers, radio and via their own magazine and YouTube channel.
\nAbul was awarded AAT\u2019s Licenced Member of the Year award as part of the qualification and professional body\u2019s Annual Conference, to recognise the sophisticated use of his marketing strategy and use of technology to help improve business practice. The award is designed to celebrate AAT\u2019s professional members, and acknowledge their excellent and inspiring achievements. Abul impressed the judges with the fact that his practice is now a recognised partner with several software providers.
\nAfter picking up his award, Abul said: “I am really honoured and delighted to receive this prestigious award, which is recognition of my professional excellence at Taj Accountants. Our aim is to maintain this top class service to the community and wider business society. I am sure the award will become an encouragement for us, our community and other professional service providers.”
