{"id":6988,"date":"2017-08-23T16:52:11","date_gmt":"2017-08-23T15:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/?p=6988"},"modified":"2017-08-23T16:52:11","modified_gmt":"2017-08-23T15:52:11","slug":"worlds-biggest-samosa-cooked-in-east-london-mosque","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/worlds-biggest-samosa-cooked-in-east-london-mosque\/","title":{"rendered":"World&#8217;s biggest samosa cooked in East London Mosque"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6989\" src=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Samosa.jpg\" alt=\"Samosa\" width=\"301\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Samosa.jpg 301w, https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Samosa-300x166.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 301px) 100vw, 301px\" \/>A mosque in east London has broken the record for the world\u2019s biggest samosa and then fed it to homeless people.<br \/>\nThe enormous snack, weighing in at 153kg, was made by a team of Muslim Aid volunteers at the East London Mosque on Tuesday.<br \/>\nAfter claiming their official Guinness World Record, the team distributed the gigantic samosa to homeless people around Whitechapel.<br \/>\nResidents from the nearby Booth House &#8211; the largest men\u2019s hostel in London \u2013 were invited to enjoy a piece of the treat.<br \/>\nMembers of the mosque said they decided to make the samosa to highlight the \u201cgenerosity of Muslim people during religious festivals like Eid\u201d.<br \/>\nMuslim Aid\u2019s Zac Hussain, explained: We wanted to make a larger-than-ever version of this popular food to demonstrate visually how people of the Muslim faith work tirelessly throughout the year, and particularly during Eid, doing charitable acts to support the unfortunate in the community around them and further afield.<br \/>\n&#8220;The samosa will feed the homeless near our offices in London.
