In a ceremony at Oxford House, Bethnal Green, on Tuesday (December 17), the Speaker of Tower Hamlets Council, Cllr Lesley Pavitt, presented certificates to the adults in recognition of their achievements.
\nThe recipients have completed various programmes aimed at helping them improve their parenting skills and better engage with their children.
\nThe programmes, including Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities, Speakeasy and Emotional First Aid, are run by the council in various schools and centres across the borough.
\nMayor Lutfur Rahman said: \u201cI congratulate these parents on completing these courses.
\n\u201cBeing a parent is the greatest job in the world but also arguably one of the hardest, so it is wonderful to see these parents seeking professional expertise to hone their parenting skills.\u201d
\nParenting programmes allow parents to share their parenting experiences, learn skills to deal with challenging behaviour and manage conflict positively.
\nParents benefit from increased confidence in managing behaviour and a greater understanding of children\u2019s development.
\nCabinet member for Children, Schools and Families Cllr Oliur Rahman said: \u201cWell done to all these parents. We at Tower Hamlets Council offer these courses to help families ensure the borough\u2019s young people get the best possible start in life.\u201d
