{"id":739,"date":"2014-01-04T11:42:48","date_gmt":"2014-01-04T11:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/?p=739"},"modified":"2014-01-04T11:42:48","modified_gmt":"2014-01-04T11:42:48","slug":"asia-cup-to-be-held-in-bangladesh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/asia-cup-to-be-held-in-bangladesh\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia Cup to be held in Bangladesh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Asia-Cup.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-740\" alt=\"Asia Cup\" src=\"http:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Asia-Cup.jpg\" width=\"299\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a>Asian Cricket Council today reconfirmed that Asia Cup cricket tournament will be held in Bangladesh as scheduled following security concern due to political instability.<br \/>\nThe assurance came during a meeting of the ACC in Colombo today, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the acting chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed.<br \/>\nScheduled to begin on February 25, the continental tournament is set to end on March 8.<br \/>\nIndia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and host Bangladesh will take part in the tournament.<br \/>\nThe ACC decision may also clear they cloud over holding of the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh scheduled to from March 6 to April 16.<br \/>\nACC today okayed the security plan a delegation of the BCB placed during the meeting in Colombo.<br \/>\nThe tournament appeared to have run into trouble after Pakistan&#8217;s alleged refusal to travel to Bangladesh.<br \/>\nThough there were reports in the media on this, they did not formally communicated to ACC about their reservation over travelling to Bangladesh, Indian newspaper Times of India quoted a top ACC official as saying.<br \/>\nAccording to the newspaper, Pakistan&#8217;s opposition to Bangladesh as a venue stems from the reported hostilities towards the country there.
