{"id":7965,"date":"2018-04-14T13:00:29","date_gmt":"2018-04-14T12:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/?p=7965"},"modified":"2018-04-14T13:36:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-14T12:36:41","slug":"bangladeshi-peacekeepers-get-un-medal-in-mali","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/index.php\/bangladeshi-peacekeepers-get-un-medal-in-mali\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangladeshi peacekeepers get UN medal in Mali"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7966\" src=\"https:\/\/english.thesunrisetoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Mali.jpg\" alt=\"Mali\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/>Some 139 members of a Bangladeshi Formed Police Unit (FPU) serving with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) have been awarded the UN medal for their efforts to support peace in the West African country.<br \/>\nThe medal ceremony was held at MINUSMA&#8217;s Operational Base in Bamako, Mali recently, said a press release on Saturday.<br \/>\nThe Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Koen Davidse, Deputy Chief of the MINUSMA Police Component, Brigadier General Jean-Frederic Sellier, and many other guests, including a high-level delegation from Bangladesh, attended the colorful ceremony.<br \/>\nBrigadier General Sellier said, &#8220;The decorated Bangladeshi police officers have performed their missions properly and with determination and professionalism.
