7 children die in road crash

At least seven children have been killed and 50 others injured as a picnic bus carrying the school children fell into a roadside pond in Jessore’s Chougacha Upazila after driver lost control of the vehicle.
The accident took place around 8:30pm on Saturday at Chougacha’s Jhautola area.
The students of Benapole Government Primary School went to Mujibnagar in Meherpur along with students of two other schools in the morning for a picnic.
The driver of the bus lost control while trying to overtake a truck near the brick kiln at Chougahca’s Jhautola and drove the vehicle into the pond.
Locals immediately started rescue operation and recovered bodies of three children. Four others died at Chougacha Upazila Health Complex after they were rushed there.
At least 50 other students were also admitted there.
