Humayun Ahmed’s mother Ayesha Foyez dies
Ayesha Foyez, mother of eminent author, dramatist, screenwriter, playwright and filmmaker late Humayun Ahmed died at Labaid Hospital in the city on Saturday morning.
She was 84. Hospital sources said she breathed her last at the hospital in the morning.
Ayesha Foyez, also mother of Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, educationist and author of science fictions and children’s storyteller, and Ahsan Habib, renowned cartoonist, was undergoing treatment at the hospital due to several old-age complications, including kidney ailments.
Ayesha Foyez’s eldest son Humayun Ahmed died on July 19, 2012 at Bellevue Hospital, New York, at the age of 64 after a nine-month battle against cancer, bringing the curtain down on an illustrious career of nearly four decades.
