AL attack on journos’ rally at Press Club

The Press Club area in the city has turned into a battle field as the ruling party men made repeated attack at a rally of journalists over reopening the shut media in the premises on Sunday noon.
Witnesses said, ruling party supporters led by city AL general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya brought out a rally against ‘March for Democracy’.
As the procession was passing by the Press Club area, they suddenly swooped on the Press Club premises leaving several journalists injured in the incident. Panic gripped the whole area during the clash.
As the journalists tried to regroup, the ruling party men again attacked them. Police however, allegedly remained silent during the clash.
