Bloggers hurting religious sentiment will be punished : Home Minister

The Home Minister, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, said people writing in blogs or any other media derogatory articles on religion will be tried under the existing law of the country.
The Minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Department of Narcotics Control headquarters in the capital’s Gandaria on Tuesday. His warning the bloggers came while replying to a query by a reporter.
The Minister denied allegations that the police forces have failed in arresting the blogger murderers.
“A lot of perpetrators of the blogger murder cases have been arrested. We have clues in the recent blogger Niloy murder case. I don’t want to guess anything. We want to arrest the criminals after scrutinizing all the data we have,” the Minister said.
Niladri Chatterjee Niloy was brutally murdered in his own house in front his wife on August 7. This was the fourth murder in a matter of 5 months in the country.
Avijit Roy, Oasiqur Rahman Babu and Ananta Bijoy Das was murdered in the same way as Niloy. All the murders were claimed by the extremist Islamist group Ansarullah Bangla Team.
On the other hand, a senior politician and law maker of the ruling Awami League, Suranjit Sengupta said that the government has failed to protect the law and order in the country.
