Cabinet revises hajj package timeframe

The cabinet today revised the timeframe for deposition of the registration fee of this year’s hajj pilgrims reducing the amount of initial deposition both for ballotee and non-ballotee hajjis.
As per new schedule, ballotee hajj pilgrims will have to deposit Taka 51,690 and non-ballotee hajjis will deposit Taka 48,331.50 by February 5, 2015 at the time of registration. Hajjis will pay rest of the amount of their package by June 10, 2015.
The decision was taken in the regular meeting of the cabinet held in the cabinet room of Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Cabinet secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said the timeframe has been rescheduled with a view to proper management of the hajj arrangement.
Musharraf Hossain said the cabinet gave approval to a proposal for formation of a joint venture power sector company namely “Bangladesh-China Power Company (Pvt) Limited (BCPCL) comprising North West Power Generation Company Ltd. Bangladesh and China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CMC).
In addition the cabinet has given a final approval to the draft of “Youth Organizations (Registration and Management) Act, 2015″. The law proposed that local voluntary non-political youth organizations have to take registration from Ministry of Youths instead of Department of Social Welfare.
