Democracy not safe yet : Khaleda Zia
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said democracy established in the country through the sacrifices of the blood of hundreds of martyrs is not safe yet. The former prime minister made the remarks in a message issued on the occasion of the Fall of Autocracy Day.
On December 6, 1990, military ruler HM Ershad was forced to step down from power in the face of a mass upheaval.
Khaleda Zia also alleged that the ruling government is shackling the nation with a one-party cruel rule.
Our democracy has gotten stumbled again and again on its march forward. The democracy established by the blood of hundreds of martyrs is not yet out of danger, Khaleda said.
She urged all to become united in order to resist the evil forces and give democracy a permanent shape.
