Khaleda Zia’s son Koko dies
BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s younger son Arafat Rahman Koko has died. He died at a hospital in Malaysia on Saturday where he was receiving treatment, said BNP chairperson’s press wing members Shamsuddin Didar and Shairul Kabir Khan.
But they could not say when Koko died.
Mahila Dal general secretary Shirin Sultana, who has been staying at Khaleda’s Gulshan office since January 3, told. Koko suffered a heart attack at the hospital and died around 12:30pm (Bangladesh time).
Following the 1/11 political changeover in 2007, Khaleda and her sons-Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko- were arrested on graft charges.
After their release on parole in 2008, Koko flew to Thailand for treatment with his family. Later, he moved to Malaysia and had been staying there.
Khaleda had last met her younger son in 2013 in Singapore. But the whole family has not been together since 2007.
