Mufti Waqqas arrested

Detective Branch police arrested Jamiote Ulamay-e-Islam Ameer and Islami Ain Bastobaiyon Committee Secretary General Mufti Waqqas.
He was arrested from Chowdhurypara Madrasha in the capital around 2:30 pm on Monday. According to a source, there he was attended in a meeting of Bangladesh Kawmi Madrasa Board- BEFAQ.
DMP Media Centre Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Police arrested him to quiz in a case filed with Shahbagh Thana over the incident of Hefajat-e-Islam on August 5.
General Mufti Wakkash was an MP and ex-minister in Bangladesh. He is one of the vice presidents of Hefajot Isalam Bangladesh.
