Two Top Ladies Busy in Catfight : ABM Musa
Veteran journalist ABM Musa said the two top leaders of the two main political fronts are busy in catfight and using the people as their chess pieces for political score.
“The government, whoever is in power – democratic or autocratic — does not allow election without movement or bloodshed. Earlier, Ersahd did not allow fair election and now the AL led government doing the same thing,” said Musa while speaking at a seminar.
The seminar titled ‘Great crisis ahead: The importance of citizen initiatives’ was organized by Nagorik Oikkya and it was held at Dhaka Reporter’s Unity on Thursday.
Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed said, “Between the two major parties – BNP does not have any character while the Awami League has also lost their ideological character. Cyclonic storm like Sidr and typhoons are created when a vacuum or an emptiness is created in the Bay of Bengal. Similarly, the emptiness in politics too creates storm and leads nation towards destruction.”
Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, “This time the crisis has been created as the process of power handover has not been evolved even in last 42 years of independence. The problem will intensify if the self-conscious people do not take initiative for resolving the crisis. Movement will be the lone option for protecting democracy in the country from the vicious clutches of the Awami League and BNP.”
Nagorik Oikkya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna presided over the seminar. Former election commissioner Brig General (retd) M Sakhwat Hossain, Narayanganj AL former president SM Akram and Zoology Association president Professor Dr Monjur Chowdhury were present as discussants in the seminar.
